Near the fort tourist can find the unique Ramgua tree which secrete red substance when the branches are peeled. According the fables the trees surrounding the Mendabari fort are the royal soldiers who till date guard the fort and its blood of those soldiers that flows while cutting the tree.

Best Time to Visit Mendabari

The best time to make most of the trip towards Mendabari is considered the post monsoon season from October to May when the weather is favorable. The forest area of Dooars remains close during the monsoon season from mid July to mid September.
